Thursday marks the 22nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Gordon Richins, the Consumer Liaison at the Center for Persons with Disabilities at Utah State University, tells UPR's Brianna Bodily about what the Act has accomplished so far and what still needs to change.

Utah’s legislative session is still 6 months away, but this week, several state lawmakers are drafting laws along with hundreds of other lawmakers and business representatives from across the country who belong to the American Legislative Exchange Council. The group, known as ALEC, is meeting in Salt Lake City this week, and as  Jessica Gail reports, many are unhappy with the organization’s way of doing things.

An elusive man photographed earlier this month in a fur-covered goat suit crawling on his hands and knees close to wild goats near Ben Lomond Peak has been unmasked.

The individual, who has been dubbed “Goat Man” by the media and has drawn comparisons to the legendary Big Foot creature, is apparently a 57-year-old hunter from Southern California, Phil Douglass, conservation outreach manager for the Division of Wildlife Resources, told the Standard-Examiner on Monday.

Governor Herbert has issued a warning reminding citizens to use caution and follow fire restrictions closely while celebrating Pioneer Day this year.

Although each city is responsible for its own fireworks restrictions and safety, all areas outside of incorporated areas are still under a full ban on fireworks. The only exceptions include 1 or 2 areas inside Salt Lake County.

Veterinarians and public safety responders from Utah and Idaho will be conducting a large-scale foreign animal disease exercise July 31 - August 2 in Cache Valley to quickly identify and contain a foreign animal disease.
