It's been estimated that nearly 40,000 Utahns have been furloughed because of the government shutdown, programs like the Women’s Infant Care (WIC) are struggling to provide their services to mothers and their children, all six of Utah’s National Parks are closed, leaving surrounding businesses and towns fearful.
Joining the program today we will hear from senior Washington correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune, Thomas Burr. He will discuss what’s going on in Washington and how their actions can further affect Utah. Later on the program Director of Iron County Tourism, Maria Twitchell and owner of Ruby’s Inn in Canyon City, Lance Syrette will speak on Southern Utah’s tourism season and their biggest concerns with the shutdown. Following we'll hear from Kane County’s Director of Economic Development, Kelly Stowell and the Govenor’s Office Executive Director of Management and Budget, Kristin Cox as they join the conversation on how Utah can move forward.
