A Preview to the Bear River Basin Forum on Access Utah Monday

www.brwcouncil.org

We’ll try to find a good balance among many competing uses of our limited water supply on Monday’s Access Utah. We’ll preview the Bear River Basin Forum, sponsored by the Bear River Watershed Council.

Our guests in the first half include Star Coulbrooke from the Oneida Narrows Organization, which fought a dam proposed for a stretch of the Bear River in southern Idaho; Nancy Mesner, Associate Professor in the USU Department of Watershed Sciences; and Jim DeRito, Bear River Project Manager for Trout Unlimited.

In the second half, we’ll consider the questions: Should we preserve the Greater Canyonlands region and, if so, how best to do it?  Our guests will include UPR’s Moab Correspondent Jon Kovash.

Tom Williams worked as a part-time UPR announcer for a few years and joined Utah Public Radio full-time in 1996. He is a proud graduate of Uintah High School in Vernal and Utah State University (B. A. in Liberal Arts and Master of Business Administration.) He grew up in a family that regularly discussed everything from opera to religion to politics. He is interested in just about everything and loves to engage people in conversation, so you could say he has found the perfect job as host “Access Utah.” He and his wife Becky, live in Logan.
