Gun Ownership Responsibility on Access Utah Tuesday

sheriff.lacounty.gov

BYU is out with a poll on Utahns’ attitudes toward guns and Utah Parents Against Gun Violence recently delivered a letter to Governor Herbert urging him to veto a bill which would loosen concealed carry restrictions.

We’ll ask you whether the Utah Legislature is accurately representing your views on guns.  And we’ll examine the question: What does it mean to be a responsible gun owner?  Our guests include BYU Political Science Professor Kelly Patterson; Cache County Sheriff Lynn Nelson; concealed carry instructor and retired Davis County Sheriff’s Sergeant Bob Bredsguard; and Access Utah Producer and possible prospective gun owner Dani Hayes.  We’ll ask: How much training should be required for gun ownership, if any?  Do you have concerns about gun ownership--your own or others? Do you have an experience with guns that you’d like to share? Are we safer with more or fewer guns?

You can join the discussion at 1-800-826-1495, online at http://www.upr.org/programs/access-utah, on Twitter @utahpublicradio, and by email to upraccess@gmail.com  Access Utah is 9:00 to 10:00 Tuesday morning on UPR.
