The stage is set for tonight’s ‘State of the State’ address by Gov. Gary Herbert.
A spokesman for the governor, Marty Carpenter, says the main points of the speech will include education and air quality – two big priorities in the governor’s latest $13.3 budget.
Health care is also likely to be part of the address. Last week, Herbert said he plans to expand Medicaid coverage to low-income Utahns, but the details are still unclear.
In an interview with UPR, Herbert said an expanded Medicaid would reach Utahns with limited access to healthcare.
Herbert will speak at 6:30 p.m. at the Utah State Capitol House Chamber. Join UPR for live coverage of the event.
