Fresh Folk- April 6

On the show this week, I feature the alt-bluegrass of the Coal Porters, and the harmony-driven sounds of The Stray Birds. I’ll also play tracks from new releases by Ricky Skaggs, The Foghorn Stringband, and the Abrams Brothers, to name just a few. Join me this Saturday at 8pm for Fresh Folk on Utah Public Radio.

There some great concerts happening around the state, including:  Dan Bern at the Social Work Auditorium on April 10^th, Colin Hay at the State Room on April 17^th, Joshua James at the Urban Lounge on April 19^th, Paul Kelly at the Depot on April 26^th, Rodriguez plays at the Complex on April 29^th, Todd Snider at the State Room on May 2^nd, the Milk Carton Kids at the State Room on May 6^th, The Shins at Park City Live on May 13^th, and looking far ahead, the Ogden Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival takes place May 31- June 2^nd with The Boxcars, Elephant Revival and Tim O’Brian headlining.  In Logan, pianist Radoslav Lorkovic does a house concert on April 19^th, and Tanner McDowell plays at WhySound on April 20^th.
