Deadly Explosion at Utah's Adonis Bronze Foundry

Adonis Bronze
A bronze statue of a fireman cast at Adonis Bronze by Ron Pekar. There was a deadly explosion at the foundry.

One man is dead after an explosion at an Art Center in Alpine. Police say a door blew off its hinges after a worker used a steaming machine to melt wax off a bronze statue.

Emergency workers believe the steaming machine malfunctioned and caused the explosion that blew the door off its hinges. The door then hit the man in the head at Adonis Bronze.  Once emergency workers arrived, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Three other workers were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.  Police are now investigating why the steaming machine blew up.
