The Cache Valley community will remember the owner Northern Utah’s family-run ski resort during funeral services Wednesday. Ted Seeholzer, owner and operator of Beaver Mountain, passed away last week.
Seeholzer left his real job working for Thiokol to dedicate his time to his love – a family-owned ski resort in Northern Utah’s Logan Canyon. Beaver Mountain is known as the place where the locals ski. When you ski the beave, you are adopted into a community, a family that lifts your spirits while lifting you to that next run.
Logan resident Paige Pagnucco knows Ted as a skier and from her work with the Utah Avalanche Center.
“His support of the Utah ski industry and tourism was a benefit to the Cache and Rich County communities as well as the state,” Pagnucco said. “Those who knew him said he used his business sense and his passion for the out of doors to operate a business that battles nature and required a many of many talents.”
Seeholzer passed away May 23 at the age of 81. He leaves behind a legacy of five children and his wife of 49 years – Marge, who worked alongside the man of Beaver Mountain.
The funeral is being handled by Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan. A viewing was scheduled at the funeral home Tuesday, and the funeral will be conducted at a Smithfield LDS chapel Wednesday.
